Under the Business Events Australia brand, Tourism Australia raises awareness and consideration of Australia’s quality business events product offering and delivery of both association and incentive events. Activity includes brand and content marketing, educational visits, trade engagement and events that allow the Australian business events industry to meet with qualified buyers to grow their business. Tourism Australia targets business events planners and decision makers with a focus on core international markets which represent the greatest return on investment including the United Kingdom and Europe. Tourism Australia via the Boosting Business Events Bid Fund Program (BFP) will provide assistance to secure new international business events for Australia. Managed by Tourism Australia’s dedicated business events unit, Business Events Australia (BEA), the program is designed to increase the success rate of bids for new and qualified international business events by offering financial support at the critical bidding stage of international business events. The BFP will provide planners considering Australia with a competitive advantage when bidding to secure high-value international business events. Applications for the BFP will open on 1 May 2018, with access to funds for successful applications available from 1 July 2018.
