Aspiring to use Fairtrade & Rainforest Alliance food products which are traceable back to source, wherever possible. The Kitchen operate a range of sustainable initiatives with even more to come, which the team are happy to discuss with potential new clients.
Over 98% of waste from EventCity is diverted from landfill, with 69% recycled and 29% turned into energy. With a target of reaching zero waste to landfill, the venue is only 2% away; furthermore, its also achieved the annual energy reduction target of 3% through a pro-active Energy Management Action Plan.
EventCity is currently ISO 50001 compliant and is on the way to receiving a certified event status ISO 20121, by The International Organization for Standardization. Rebecca Towell is Business Development Manager at EventCity, the North’s largest and most versatile exhibition, conference and multi-purpose venue. A highly knowledgeable industry professional, Rebecca is responsible for managing the venues existing client base, whilst sourcing and handling new business, working with event agencies, corporate companies and exhibition organisers across the UK. With over 11 years’ experience, Rebecca worked with large event venues and hotel groups, prior to joining the EventCity team and has an in-depth knowledge of the market. Extremely creative and hard-working, Rebecca works with the wider team to support and come up with new ideas on how the venue can develop and work for new and existing clients. Described as dedicated, enthusiastic and friendly by colleagues, Rebecca is an asset to the team and most notably led the EventCity Roadshow – covering 1,500 miles to see over 30 agencies in three weeks.
