Speaker Kevin Blackman:

I have been in the hospitality industry for a number of years working initially within the Business Travel sector where I had the opportunity to work in Paris on behalf of Carlson Wagonlit on the GE Account. I finally took the leap into the world of hotels where I was very fortunately to have had some wonderful experiences on sales trips to California, New York and flying by helicopter from Nice to Juan le Pins on a sales conference.

My passion for unique venues blossomed when I was fortunate enough to work for Central Hall Westminster, this experience lasted for eight years where I had the opportunity to explore new and exciting markets, none more so than the Chinese market. I worked on this sector for about 5 years and visited the country on a number of occasions which resulted in gaining some great contacts and business from that region.

I recently decided to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and explore a new opportunity here at Newbury Racecourse, this is a very exciting role and a wonderful venue and I look forward to welcoming new and diverse customers to experience the fantastic facilities throughout the site.

Now living in the Oxfordshire countryside, we have decided to test our ‘green fingers’ but taking on an allotment plot… this will be interesting but I am looking forward to ‘reaping’ the rewards of our efforts during the summer.
