The Science Museum can accommodate from 10 guests for a sit-down dinner to 1500 guests for a standing drinks reception, the venue portfolio is made up of 12 unique galleries, an IMAX Theatre and our very own dedicated events space, Illuminate.

Our brand-new dedicated events space Illuminate is situated on Levels 4 and 5 of the Science Museum. Illuminate is available for both daytime and evening hire, with capacities of up to 400 for dinners and conferences and 450 for receptions. Among the unique features of this new space is a panoramic window on Level 5, offering stunning views of the City and an abundance of natural daylight, a key element in ensuring a productive meeting or conference experience. Illuminate’s dedicated AV and catering partners, White Light and Moving Venue ensure quality is met across the board.
Our flagship Making the Modern World gallery is the perfect setting for large scale awards ceremonies, the galleries exceptional collection traces the cultural history of industrialisation from 1750 to the present day and features some of the museum’s most remarkable objects. Hiring Making the Modern World means that you can take full advantage of our in-house lighting system and lighting technician for the duration of your event.
You can also invite your guests to network among incredible icons of aviation in a replica aircraft hangar in our Flight gallery which accommodates up to 400 for a reception. Flight is available for both day-time hire for meetings and conferences or dinners and drinks receptions.
We don’t just host corporate events at the Science Museum, you can celebrate a Bat / Bar Mitzvah in our Wonderlab: The Equinor Gallery as well! This fully interactive gallery is has over 50 hands-on exhibits, immersing your guests in a world of wonder

Bryony Mitchison – Event Sales Manager
Bryony started working at the Science Museum in June 2016 as an Event Sales Executive having completed an Events Management degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has previously worked at another venue in Holborn for 2 ½ years as a Special Events Coordinator along with completing internships with Quintessentially Events and Inca Productions prior to this. She was keen to work on larger, more complex events, so with over 12 galleries and the brand new event space, Illuminate, the Science Museum was the perfect step-up in her career!
Jodie has been in the events industry for over 10 years working in Operations, Sales and Marketing. She started her career at an events agency based in Surrey before moving to London where she worked for English Heritage across 3 sites.
Jodie moved to the Science Museum in 2012 and now manages the promotion and business development of the incredible array of spaces the museum has to offer. Jodie’s main objectives for 2019 is launching Illuminate & the Smith Centre to the events market.
